Not that too many people care here, but I figured I'd post the news anyway... <BR> <BR>As reported today (12/14) in Daily Variety: <BR> <BR>"Corbett, Russos to roll the dice with FX's 'Lucky'" <BR>Written by Melissa Grego <BR> <BR>"FX is close to getting 'Lucky' with SEX AND THE CITY regular [and VISITOR star] John Corbett and director brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. <BR> <BR>The cabler is in negotiations with CAA-repped Corbett to star in the pilot for LUCKY, a dark comedy about recovering gambling addicts. Net is in discussions with the UTA-repped Russos to direct the project, written and exec produced by another brother duo, Robb Cullen and Mark Cullen. Castle Rock is producing. <BR> <BR>FX Entertainment prexy Kevin Reilly said last week that he has high hopes for LUCKY landing on the network's sked as a series in June or July (2002), in the timeslot previously carved out for BAD NEWS, MR. SWANSON. The network is settling out of its 13-episode plans for SWANSON following the exit of star-exec producer Jeremy Piven. <BR> <BR>The Russos are the writer-directors of upcoming pic WELCOME TO COLLINWOOD, produced through Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney's Section Eight shingle at Warner Bros. Update: <BR> <BR>Not only is "Lucky" a go, but they just finished shooting the pilot! <BR> <BR>Monday's issue of the Las Vegas Review-Journal had a blurb about the production, which I paraphrased and posted on jc.com here: <A HREF="http://www.john-corbett.com/panels/lucky/" TARGET="_top">http://www.john-corbett.com/panels/lucky/</A> <BR> <BR>In a nutshell, "Lucky" is being billed as a "dark comedy" and stars "Visitor" John Corbett in the title role as a recovering gambling addict. Cast and crew spent ten days shooting the pilot in Vegas and wrapped up today (1/31/02.) The series will be comprised of 1/2 hour-long episodes and should premiere on FX's sked this fall. <BR> <BR>WAHOOOOOOOOOO! "Back atcha!" Whaaaaa, just saw "Lucky" on FX. Will this be a series? I'm not sure if it was the pilot or what, but it was enjoyable. I couldn't believe the 30 min. were up so soon...was hoping it was an hr. long show.
