Whoa! Hang out there on the e-mails to "agent pat" or "the john corbett site." Eeeek!

Rich, we're kind of one-and-the-same. What goes to one place, goes to the other.

We hear ya on your enthusiasm, but it's sorta out of our hands. To my knowledge, the rights are still owned by FOX. And e-mail to *anybody* is meaningless. If you want them to hear your plea, write a LETTER to FOX Broadcasting, and get your friends to do the same.

Be cognizant of the fact however, that the show will be five years old (YIKES!) this November. All of the original cast and crew have moved on to other jobs.

I don't want to sound too negative here, but does anybody know of ANY television show that was brought back after it was canceled five years earlier? It might sound more promising if there was a list of shows that could be referenced, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. Anybody?

Not to mention (well, Pat sort of did) that JC is involved in a new series that, in respectful well wishes, we all hope succeeds. Although, I'm always available to play the Visitor :Þ

"Go away"

"I'm a visitor. I come and go like the wind."

"*blowing* Go away now"

"It's not time yet. You have a purpose. Can I borrow 5 bucks?"

"Honey, get the gun..."

Earlier this year, I remember reading something about "Prey" getting a wrap up TV film. I've misplaced the article, but didn't that series get cancelled after about one season in around 1998?

I think I remember that series. About the 'super humans' or something? The next evolutionary step in human... evolution?

That's right, The UK Sci-fi channel have just started showing it, along with "Freakylinks" [another series that was cancelled by Fox after 13 episodes]. Now, if only they could be persuaded to accquire "the Visitor"!

As for TV shows that were "brought back", I don't suppose features like "Dukes of Hazzards: The Hazzards in Hollywood", "Hart to Hart: Secrets of the Hart" or "Murder She Wrote: A Story to Die For" count?

Were they TV movies, or revived series Wayne? As I recall, Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch cornered the market on beating that dead horse. What I was referring to was the *original* series being brought back 5 years after cancellation. Not a "new version" of an old theme, but the *original.* I still can't think of any.

Which brings me to my next point, one that I've brought up MANY times before. I know I'm biased here - REALLY biased LOL, but I can't imagine anybody else in the title role than Corbett. Can you? Is it just me? I'm afraid that, after 5 years of reruns and watching the episodes off tape, the image of that character is burned into my retinas. I can't tell the forest from the trees anymore.

What's my point? Well, since the whole cast has gone in different directions: D&E's separation, and some of the actors being committed to new series, we'd be looking at a whole new cast and crew. Do we as viewers want that now? My jury's still out, but if I'd have to answer quickly, I'd say no.

...I bet they'd all be available to do a movie though. [hint, hint] ;o)

Pat, as far as I know they were all TV movies. I suppose the only way we could see the Vistor cast & crew back together would be for a one-off reunion special because as you rightly mention, they've all gone off in different directions now.

I didn't mention the Brady Bunch as the "new" films like "Brady Bunch in the Whitehouse" have a different cast, but the other examples used the original actors.

Then again, those series all ran for a few years, so the emphasis was probably on money-spinning rather than treating the fans!

I can't really think of any other series that were revived after cancellation apart from a UK soap named "Crossroads" which is now back after 15 years

I agree with Pat. I don't see why we can't have a couple of visitor movies ala Alien Nation. You know, self contained stories that still help to advance the overall mythos.

As for an 'ongoing thing' with the visitor, there's always fanfics :]

I would LOVE to see a Visitor movie, or two, or three. [grin] The entire cast has theatrical film experience, so why not?!

Now *there's* a campaign for Rich to sink his focus into. BTW, where'd he go??
