Hi,

I was an extra on the Visitor 2 times and I"m not sure which episode they are. I'd like to tape them if and when they replay on Scifi. I hope someone out there can assit. The first took place in a ready room of some government compound that has large monitors on the wall (almost like NASA but small) and some sort of lauch takes place in the story. The second takes place at the Santa Monica pier and The Visitor is being chased to the end and leaps off.

Many thanks!!

Hello Mark!
In the meantime, you can take a look at The Visitor Episode Guide at Centropoholics.com.

Hey Mark! Where have you been all these years? LOL Sounds like you were an extra in The Trial, for sure. The other episode . . . . I'm not so sure. There was a launch of a rocket in Dreams.

Tell us more. What was it like being an extra?

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it.

Being an extra? Well, living in L.A. it's something we have to do. I really never took it seriously - I just had fun. I did about 100 shows, films and commercials. Friends, X-Files Movie and Drew Carey among them.

Visitor was a fairly good show to work on. Shooting at the pier was alot of fun, but it was pretty cold out. It was neat to see the stuntman going over the edge of the pier and into the ocean. The other episode was shot on an old Boing factory site near LAX right off the 405 freeway. I belive that was the "studio" lot for that production. That day the air conditioning was broken and we all were baking. Otherwise it was pleasent.

Anyway, hope you all can assist. I would appreciate it. Also, I see on other boards that fans of ID4 are around, I worked on the Marvel comic as an editor.

Take care!

Yes, the NASA type episode was "Dreams". I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Pity, I didn't know you were in it, I could have looked out for you. There didn't seem to be a lot of people in that Control room. Might be more difficult to spot you among all the people on the Pier in "The Trial"!

Bourne Identity. Oh, that's a new one! ;)

The Control Room was pretty small and we were pretty fried without AC.

I know I run across the pier when the army is chasing him. The PA's told me to move it or I'd get plowed over by he S.U.V.'s.

When I see the shows, I'll let you know if I spot myself!!!

I second that Sheri! Rocket Man, Kefla :-) I've noticed Dean and Co. do pay a bit better, at least on the overtime part, and one has to commend them for that. Of course, the economy was a tad better also, so maybe that had something to do with it. BTW, what is John Corbett's latest adventure?

Well, I just viewed Dreams and I've got an excellent shot of me right at the start of the program. They do various shots of the control room and people while the voice-over is talking. (If you know the episode -you understand what I mean). Anyway, one of the shots of the "workers" at the control stations is me and I'm by myself. I sort of fiddle for a second then look up towards the screen. I had no idea the camera was on me. : )

I need to view the other episode next!

Hey, that's very cool, Mark. (And to think some of us would have loved to be "dead" extras in The Patriot, LOL.)

Let us know what you see in The Trial.

Just a question: did the brain shown in "the Chain" have an eye? *Shudder*. Only "the Trial" left now [sniff]. Ironically, "the Visitor" is sponsored by play.com [a company whch sells videos and DVDs] on the European Sci-fi channel, despite it not actually being available on DVD!

Yeah, "The Chain" was a creepy episode. hehe
I don't recall seeing an eye on that brain - will have to re-watch!

A DVD is exactly what we need. My tapes are composting under the TV set. hmm, maybe sending a request to play.com?

A kooky psychic always makes things interesting! I just noticed that play.com seem to sponsor all the Sci-fi channel shows including "John Doe" and "The Dead Zone". Unfortunately, they are a DVD retailer rather than manufacturer, so I'm not sure we'd have any luck with a request.

I'll keep my eyes open. It would have been interesting to judge the response to the Visitor by UK audiences, but Sci-fi have taken their forum offline!

There was a whole Visitor weekend on Sci-Fi, these past few days, and all was going swimmingly until I discovered I must haveset the VCR on "short play" rather than "long play" missing a chance to save a chunk of the later episodes. I did see Mark Robert Bourne in "Dreams" though!

Now I'm looking forward to reading "Connections", although I'm still finding piecing together the Visitor webshow more confusing than "Donnie Darko"!

This may be a silly question, but as the abductees never aged, should that mean that Adam's hair shouldn't have grown? They seem to be in a "timeless" state, still wearing the clothes from their own period.

Did they stay on that ship always? Or a different planet and I wonder if we would have found out more about the mysterious Elders, had the series continued?

Definately a show for repeat viewings!

They seem to be in a "timeless" state, still wearing the clothes from their own period."

F13 (I'm hesitating about using your actual name here) - Absolutely, Adam's hair shouldn't have grown. That's logical. There was quite a bit of discussion on this point when the show aired in the states.

"Definately a show for repeat viewings!"

Each time you re-watch, you'll see more. I wonder if our comments on the episodes are still on-line somewhere? Maybe back at Centropolis?

Kefla, [is it okay if I call you that? ] there's no problem using my name! Just don't say it 5 times in front of a darkened mirror.

I had a feeling that some of these questions had been tackled before, and thanks to Sher, we have the link. But it's nice to discuss the show. It sounds weird, but I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms after watching for the last 12 weeks!

When you hear that cancelled shows like "Family Guy" are being picked up again and that "Firefly" is getting a feature length film made and even "Farscape" getting a second chance, it does make you mournful thinking about the fate of the "Visitor".

It's probably been answered before, but was the "Trial" changed to wrap things up when it became known that the show wasn't going to be picked up? Would there even have been a trial until episode 22 if a full season had been commisioned?

That was crazy! One thing I sometimes wonder about is how you can have a sequel to a Neverending Story?

Think of the sequels as a chapter of a Never-ending story.
