I hope you get this message Mr. Devlin. I have actually always dreamed of telling you what I thought about the film GODZILLA that you did, and thought it was impossible until I found this site!

I'll keep it short.
I loved Godzilla! I have been a Godzilla fan since birth and I wasn't a bit dissapointed with Godzilla 98.
I loved the new look. It kept to G's original style with the spikes, roar, and size, while being unique and different. It was Godzilla, just reborn.

I don't understand when people complain about the movie and about G's new look.
It was always meant for Godzilla to be as menacing and realistic as possible, something the Japanese couldn't quite capture (atleast most american audiences didn't buy it).

Sure, the story in it wasn't Citizen Kane, and I believe you have mentioned that you weren't completely satisfied with the script, but it was much more rich than the earlier G movies.

Not to say I don't like the original movies, I love them, it's just that I love your Godzilla too. A wonderful action movie.

It's filled with ground breaking visuals, so stunning, that they gave me goosebumps! And that's what I got and more.
I have more memorbilia to this particular film than any other film out there!

I was at a Barnes and Noble awhile back looking at comics. A fellow sci-fi fan and I got to talking about Godzilla. Godzilla 98 came up and he said "I don't understand why some people didn't like that! It was awesome!"
"I totally agree, it was great!" I replied.

I feel the film is very underrated.

And I don't know if you hear that often. So I thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

You are one of the best filmmakers ever.

Lance
