It's time, now that Japan has closed the door on the Godzilla series, for Godzilla98 to be brought back to life!!!!!

I got a website and a story idea for the sequel on it. I loved G98 and wanted a seqeul or the whole Trilogy so bad...maybe now with the door wide open, it will happen.

http://www.geocities.com/tdawg615

"Closed the Door"??
Perhaps..
But the door certainly isn't nailed shut, locked or even properly LATCHED.

On temporary Hiatus after the 50th Anniversary film is completed.

As I undersatand, Toho is going to be farming the Effects footage out to an American company.
The budget for "Godzilla: Final Wars" must be phenominal (comparatively), with an American Effects house doing the effects and n less than Ten other Monsters.
I have a theory on who this "Monster X" is, but I'll keep my teeth together for now.

Also, it looks like the DVD release of several, if not all of the films Post-G2K is getting closer & closer.

As for the Return of Tri-Star's G...

I don't really think it's likely.
Or a good idea, publicity-wise.

Don't get me wrong.. Unlike certain other G-Fans I could mention, I bear no ill will to Dean & Roland. I just don't think Godzilla was even close to D&E's best work.
(Add that to the fact that it's really difficult for me to equate the creature with the Kaiju who's been my Idol for three decades. All calculates out to "Not My Cup of Tea")

1] Don't theorize on "Monster X", it's a completely original creature
2] The farming out to an american company was a completely unjustified rumor that Toho has squashed
3] The approximate budget of this new film is 12-14 million
4] The potential return of the american Godzilla movie would most likely hinge upon the success of Peter Jackson's "King Kong" remake more than anything.

Yeah but the King Kong remake isn't until 2005....in Dec. so that would make it what....2006 before G returned???

DEAN where are you???? Bring him BACK!!!!!!!!!!

At least 2006. But hey, if anything is worthwhile, it's worth waiting for.

Btw, Dean and Co. have nothing to do with G98 anymore (the property that is, not the original movie).

(the property that is, not the original movie).

What does that mean?

Dean and company will *always* be associated with the original movie (G98), but they have long since terminated their relationship with Sony, especially as far as Godzilla is concerned. THUS, any sequel will involve a different production team/company (heck, even *I* approached Sony about writing it).

Really? cool....U should check out my draft on my site. I'm really quite the amatur on writing, but I thoughtit be cool.

So, Cintropolis owns the Godzilla Program though right? so they would have to team up with another compmany to make it. Am I right?

If you mean the cartoon, then no. Sony owns that.

Sorry, I missed your response post. (Just saw your recent post though).

Actually, Toho owns the monster itself, design and all (that was part of the agreement, that all likenesses of the creature would revert to Toho's ownership).

As for my review, when G98 first came out, I had a regular personal home page that I updated monthly. I spent the better part of a year analyzing, critiquing, just going over the good, the bad and the ugly of the movie. It was all quite complex. I've long since lost all that info, but maybe when I get some free time I'll work up a few things for it.
