The Patriot is playing on HBO tonight. First time I've looked at it since it came out last summer. What a beautiful film - I could turn the sound off and it would *still* be a treat.

I agree Kefla, with a cinematographer like Caleb Deschanel behind the lens, and R. Emmerich and D. Devlin and their team orchestrating everything, its bound to be a treat for years to come, but don't turn the sound off - it only adds to the impact!!!!!!

Now in TECHNOCOLOR! (F_U_N_G_U_S)

I can understand your enthusiasm, Kefla, but turn the sound off on a John Williams score?! That's bordering on....

odd.

:]

You have a point, tentacled one. Let me explain. It's an approach/avoidance thing. I want to watch the movie but I don't want to suffer the emotional ups and downs with the characters a second time. Was looking for a way to dilute the experience. ;-)

So maybe next time, I'll just listen . . .

Interesting technique. I'll have to try that sometime. But, what do you do if the original scene doesn't have any background music - put the stereo on? LOL

AP (venturing out of the Visitor conference for a day)

And its on again tonight! Pay attention, I'll put my own little trivia game up soon just fer kicks. I think the winner should get a model horse and a Sacagawea dollar.

I asked a 10 year old patient what his favorite movie was - today at work. You guessed it - The Patriot. So I had to detour from my usual role and bend his ear about our visit to the film site.
