ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Artifacts and replicas from the blockbuster Mel Gibson movie "The Patriot" are being sold and raffled off this weekend to raise money for restoration projects at Historic Brattonsville, a 720-acre living history village and Revolutionary War battle site. "After all the interest in 'The Patriot' last year, we thought it would be a good way to raise some money for Historic Brattonsville," said Barry Grant, a board member of the Friends of Historic Brattonsville. Items up for auction include 20 autographed photos of "The Patriot" stars including Gibson, movie banners, commemorative pins and coins, flintlock replica rifles and artifacts such as pipes, locks, buttons, buckles and keys from the mid-1700s. Grant said he bought most of the items from online auction sites like eBay. More than 3,000 visitors attended last year's event, which has become one of the largest annual events for Brattonsville.
