I watch the trailer to The Patriot religiously. I am a huge trailer fan. I'm not sure why, I suppose I like the rush that they give you.

I'd have to say, with out a doubt, that the trailer to The Patriot is my favorite trailer ever. It's got the right scenes with the right music and everything. It never fails to send me goosebumps!

I know during the middle part of the trailer there was music from Hans Zimmer's music masterpiece 'The Peacemaker' but the last half with chorus, I haven't a clue as to what it's from! But it's beautiful and haunting. Maybe someone here knows.

I don't know the details, maybe someone else does. Very powerful music though throughout the movie.

Have you seen the Eight Legged Freaks trailer? If you have access to WindowsMedia.com, you can go there and see it. Its great! Number 7 on the top ten list! And yes, there's some references to Spiderman in it. Its very well done. "The Spider, Man!" "Hey Spidey!" There's some interesting sound effects there too.

BTW, in the scene where Martin and his men explode the ship, the name of that river is the Ashley. We also named the other big river after Col. Burwell, aka Chris COOPER!

Hans Zimmer - sounds a bit like Andreas Vollenweider to me. Or vice-versa. Beautiful music though. Interesting, Zimmer's Driving Miss Daisy. The man behind me as the carriage passed (another extra) ....he drove for Miss Daisy in the play here I believe. I just called him Driving Miss Daisy! We laughed, he was a super guy.

Yeah, Driving Miss Daisy is a spectacular film!

By the way, John Williams score to 'The Patriot' is beyond words. I believe David Arnold did a score to the film, but I could be wrong. Anyways, it went to Mr. Williams.

What was neat about all of this is that, Devlin and Emmerich had done all these spectacular 'popcorn' flicks before and now they were doing something dead serious for a change. And on top of this all, Williams was doing the score for the film!

This was really exciting for me, because I couldn't wait to see the results of such a collaboration!

The result was a film that I rank right up there with Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers etc.

It had the entertainment value of a popcorn film, but was totally NOT a popcorn film. The story was awesome, the visuals are some of the best ever. (Love the scene where Gibson's son looks out the window and the music gets louder, the sky is very blue and the flags are waving, and the drums are playing and the cannons are blowing peoples head off).

Lord have mercy! The film is an absolute masterpiece!

By the way Will, have you gotten that Godzilla DVD yet? LOL
Just kidding! Heehee!!! Just Kidding! LOL

Yes, and its just awesome! Didn't have popcorn while watching it, but drank some coffee and had some fried green tomatoes for snacks. That Tatopoulos is a genius, is he not? That Gojira had to be the most fearsome lizard ever. He had quite a bite! I wonder if he/she will be back. Brings to mind a book Like father, like son,... like hell! a demain.

Really? You got it?

Was it the first time you had watched it?

I'm very glad for you! It IS an awesome movie. There are some many darn scenes that stand out it's amazing. I loved the scene where the guy is like "Uh! Oh! FIRE! FIRE!" and they start firing at Godzilla, he looks back and roars and there's the whole breathtaking sequence where he's running through the city being chased by choppers. Of course, he's too smart for them and begins chasing them.

And although alot of people said the script wasn't great and even Devlin has said it's his least favorite script, I thought it was fine really. I cared for the characters in the movie. Especially, Nick, his girlfriend, and Animal (Animal was hilarious). And wasn't the death of Godzilla... well.... heart wrenching! I mean, I almost needed tissues at that part.

Wow pump..you must have seen it a few times! did you catch the reference to Luc's The Professional?

I think you're missing the point on the really graphic scenes. The cool is the manner in which they were created to give that realism effect, but were more meant to show the horrors and tragedy of war (which sometimes might be a necessary evil).

I think most movies can be appreciated more after seeing them a second time. I can't wait to have the time to view G again, just been too busy lately. The air conditioner went out and we've just been sweating bullets. Music videos are a little the same. I can remember hearing Diamond Dave and liking the music but at first being a little jealous(heck, everyone liked him) then I saw their video Jump, and I appreciated it even more. Still do.

We're finally getting some rain (not Hans and Sarah Maclocklens) but the wet kind. What a beautiful day for singing in the rain...

The cool is the manner in which they were created to give that realism effect, but were more meant to show the horrors and tragedy of war (which sometimes might be a necessary evil)."
-Will

Godzilla or The Patriot? LOL
If The Patriot, I swear I don't miss the point.
The film is a war masterpiece. When I say I love the visuals, I don't really mean I love the scenes where the guys get their heads blown off. I love the more 'visual' visuals, if I may say... Where as many war films don't have much color to them at all and are dark and dirty,
most of the battles in The Patriot are quite colorful (blue skies, white clouds, red coats and blue coats), and to me, this is quite a terrifying effect. It's truly realistic.
When I said this has the entertainment value of a popcorn film, I mean this IS a very engrossing movie. You really get into it and are both entertained and get a good history lesson in for the day by watching this film.

So, no I don't like to really watch the scenes that are really graphic, I just really enjoy the manner in which they are created, as you put it so well!
I just wanted to get that straight! LOL! ;-)
