Thanks for the reminder Jag! A super movie for a Superstation. I noticed where one of the stars Chris Cooper(Burwell) is up for a Golden Globes award.

You do have better TV down south there...

John Edward is coming your way Mike, if you get a chance to see him, he's great live.

Gotta admit it was fun with 6 people playing 'Spot Dean'.

John'll probably do a couple of spots at the Spiritualist's Union or Brunswick Spiritualist Church. Annie Bessant wrote her book while at Brunswick.

But John's no Doris Stokes.

Don't know ms. Stokes. Sorry. (I can hear Lisa smacking her forehead).

John's pretty cool tho.

Oh, btw. I had a work friend ask me a question, and I thought you Mike, might know the answer. My friend is an American Actress, wanting to see about working in NZ. Does she need to be a NZ resident to look for acting work, or is NZ a country like Canada, needing a certain amount of native content?

If you know, great. If you don't, that's okay, just thought I would ask someone in the Land Down under who might know. She's even got relatives in Wellington who can stay with while she gets started.

Thanks!
Chris

It's a good idea for her to check out the Agents in NZ Tell her NOT to drop her stateside agent. One good one is a major casting director who is also an agent. She did the casting for Hercules, Xena, etc. I do NOT recommend the "Auckland Actors" agency, agent is flaky. Doesn't have a Basic Negotiated Fee for his actors. Used to be Lucy Lawless's old agent. Now she's with CAA.

Your friend will have to contact "Showbiz Directory" to get her details and headshot in the book and on the internet (a package), as well as contact Actors Equity stateside and let them know she's coming 'down under'. Tell her to go to the Melbourne (australia) Equity office, not the Equity office in NZ. BTW, she'll get more work in Australia than NZ, so it'll be important for her to be able to commute between NZ and OZ.

Renee O'Connor now lives in NZ... don't think she's really had a job since moving there. Not sure if she's retired, gone freelance, or can't get a job, though she still has her stateside agent, and is registered with a NZ agent.

Writer/Director Patricia Rust (adopted Aussie) can give her some info on the Oz industry from stateside, (though she'll probably refer her to me). LAAFTA/Film Australia in L.A can also give her some info.

Just wondering -- did anyone catch the Patriot on Superstation? Get this, *I* post the reminder, and tune in late! (hits forehead)..

I also happened to see our friend Roland on AMC the other night. They had this program called "Action!" -- which discussed how action-based movies came about, their popularity and stuff like that.

ID4 sequences (not to mention soundtrack) were scattered throughout the show, and Roland peeked in a few times to offer his insight.

The "Dean Devlin Show" anyone? :oP

-=JAG!
(shameless plug mode: on -- sorry guys, my station numbers are low)

http://www.eeradio.com

[Wonders if I can get the EE powers that be to put up a link on the site?] -- :o)

(shameless plug mode: off)

I missed the first one, and didn't realize there was an encore show...I missed the first thirty or so minutes of that one too, but watched the rest of it. I dunno about anyone else...but any time a movie is on, it always seems more fun to watch it on TV, even if you have it on video..maybe its the feeling that countless other people are enjoying the exact same show.

Dean, its almost been like The Patriot reunion here lately. Met one of your "core". So many people were saying they wished you might at some point make another movie around here. Our crew and support are truly dedicated.
