I have seen Eric's original short 'Big Life' spider film on Exposure, and it was very creative for an indipendent film.
I loved The Patriot, but I'm anxious to see the Devlin/Emmerich return to the genre we love best.

The film will be released in the first quarter of next year (probably February, but we haven't set a firm date yet). Not sure when we'll start running the first teaser but it will be sometime this summer. And of course, we'll run some images here on the site...soon.

Thanks for asking!

-Dean Devlin

The itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout...BOOO down came the rain and washed the spider out...(Cue car grimmicing from spider impact) Up came the sun and dried up the rain...then the itsy-bitsy spider went the spout again.
ARACNOPHOBIA!!!! LOVE THAT MOVIE!

Uhh....if the speeder was big enough to make a car grimace, then I'd hate to see the spout it'd been climbing up. >;-P

Not funny Jag. It's the itty bitty transparent ones that freak me out. They like to drop out of the ceiling on me. Once, my friend Carol was standing at the my desk chatting with me when one dropped. She was watching it just waiting for me to see it. You know that scene in ID4 when Jeff Goldblum falls over drunk on the boxes? Um, yeah. It was like that. I shot backwards in my chair and when I hit the end of the plastic carpet protector, my chair went over. And that Carol! she placidly walked around the desk, grabbed a bit of web and took Mr. Glow-in-the-Dark outside. Not fair. So not fair.
Lisa

Allow me to one up ya, Goose :] (you silly goose :Þ

This new place I moved into has a few spiders. about half inch long black spiders.

They like me, they really, really like me. I had the presence of mind to move the sheet before I jumped into bed (bed being a futon) one night, and found one running along the bed.

Then, in the bonus room (ie the den, the rec room, etc), I was watching TV and one ran across the edge of the couch. I missed it. about 20 minutes later, it was running down my leg.

Also, if there is a spider web ANYWHERE within a 35 foot radius, I will find it :]

(I've walked into spider webs crossing a busy highway! I have no clue, but they just find me).

I have read in a German newspaper an interview with your all beloved star " Roland Emmerich ".
He said there Arac Attack will be a movie with some funny scenes where hopping spiders ( " Springspinnen ?!!!!!" ) attack motorcikle drivers.
Sounds funny, but I really cannot imagine to watch big spiders !( If your all so beloved Roland Emmerich meant ME with such a " Springspinne ", I would like to clear him up, that wearing yellow Bikinis isn´t against the law, and I can´t help if anyone tries to copy my style.)I am really glad that he didn´t start to wear yellow Bikinis until now.( It would´nt be against the law, but not very attractive. The blonde at his side would be offended, I guess, one has to stop that. )
Back to my screenplay : It is not about the net, it is not about giant spiders, it is inspired by good writers of the last century like Nikolai Gogol and Puschkin. But it plays in the sixties of the 20th century, before the iron curtain falled between the East and the West.
I confess he ( Your all beloved Roland Emmerich ) inspired me during writing. Everyone has his muse.
I seem to be the muse for the spider.
( " Springspinne "!!!??? )
I am glad, that my writing skills are good enough to just make me laugh about a star, that seems to need such things to polish his image.
I am just confused, that I didn´t get any contracts till now, to play the "Spider", but you have CFX, I know. You can also try to make your blondy with CFX !

Greetings from the "Springspinne".
