Dunno 'bout the rest of you, but that title is REALLY turning me off...

I must be the only one who doesn't have a problem with it. Okay, given the subject matter [slightly campy 50's style drive-in Creature Feature], any ideas for a different title?

I have to admit I was a little miffed when the name changed from Arac Attack. I thought that title had a good ring to it. But 8 Legged Freaks I think will grow on you...actually I'm beginning to kinda like it. I tried it out yesterday on one of our local "Palmetto bugs". I'm not sure exactly how many legs they do have, but the one I slung the boot at yelling "ya freak!" is probably missing one or two at least. My aim was a little off...and I might need some help..Red rover,Red rover, send Kari right over!

Thanks F13, neat info.. I couldn't get it to start playing though. I had a friend of mine from NC ..gosh its been probably 15 or more years ago that moved to Cal. and was playing background music for movies. I guess like in those pictures..I just thought that was the neatest thing.

I do think it's a very memorable title, and it's a line uttered by a character in the film! Why the aversion to the word "Freaks" though, Sher? They're mutant spiders after all

Will, the sound clips worked for me. Do you have Real Audio installed? Sometimes it crashes out on me. Doing background music would be a very nice job indeed. A good soundtrack really makes a difference.

Hey, how about "Arachnophobia 2"? :Þ

I guess cuz maybe to me, "Freaks" sounds mickey-mouse. Something you'd expect to see on the late late night tv..not fork out to go see at the theatre.

Hey, I know a good title! How about "Arac Attack"? >;Þ

Tarantula Terror?

World Wide Web?

the Revenge of Willie Shatner's Hairpiece?

Hmmm... you've got the point Sher even if you don't like it! "Freaks" is supposed to capture the feeling [albeit with a name cast, bigger budget and effects] of those B-Movies of yesteryear which now show on late night television.

I honestly think it's a case of liking horror films and appreciating this nod to the past, much like "Scream" did with the films of the late 70s/early 80s. The title itself shows that tongue is firmly in cheek.

Fungus, shouldn't William Shatner's hairpiece get separate billing in his films?

I think William Shatner's hairpiece would demand more money than what the film's budget was. ;-)

Sheri, you should paint some of his horses!

I like Eight Legged Freaks better than Arac Attack. Although Eigh Legged Beasties would be better because when I think of freaks I think of people. Are they mutant people? Oh no, that's the one with Toby McGuire, right?

Speaking of William Shatner...

Any Iron Chef fans around? I watched William Shatner's version. Not half as good.

Nova's blushing... what in six weeks Sheri?

I heard the score (link above ) 8 LF's. !!! MOST EXCELLENT. One can just sense the critters scampering about. Really quality sounds, especially liked Spider Mania, very upbeat and loaded with crisp variety. A+++

A little off topic, but if any of you music people over there know Tim Smith, please tell him Margaret passed away. She was a wonderful person with a sweet soul. I'll be away a few days.
