My mom subjected us to the torture of daily mashed squash, for NO REASON AT ALL! for months. She just got this bug in her to get a lot of squash, cook it, mash it, and freeze the whole lump of it.

Frankly, mashed squash with butter is pretty good, but I don't have a preference for it. Favorite veggie? ONIONS! MMMMM! Meesa love onions! (bad for the breath, good for everything else!)

Er Sher, tomatoes are officially a fruit Steamed turnip with black pepper isn't too bad I suppose. What is squash like though? I've never had it. Speaking of squash, I had a bad dream about being attacked by very large and very fast spiders two nights ago. It didn't do much good to hide behind a tree, because one pounced and attemped to squash me until I work up with a very nasty start. How scary can a film be if it gives you nightmares before actually seeing it?

Kewl.

YUP they are in the Veggie section..
BUT thats cause the "majority" of the population thinketh that they be VEGGIES..

Can you Imagin the MASS comfusion that would follow in Igloos all over 'Killfordia' if 'maters and Cukes managed to get into the fruit section?

perhaps best to leave things as they are..

In Umerika, we have a single "Produce" section that sells vegetables and fruits alike, without the need to segregate them. Why can't the rest of Umerika be like that? Maybe canada's supermarkets could use a lesson from our supermarkets...

Heavens no. Lord only knows the weird and disfigured produce they'd be allowed to sell here then. (You know how the US standards are always lower. hehehe)

Legumes are beans and nuts. Don't ask me how bananas fit into that category though.

and Sheri, we've got more than enough bullsh*t in our country, why would we be importing more from Canada? Besides, what you call cattle we call "moose" :]

plantains are a different legume, relative of the banana. There's also red plantains (now THOSE are good. Remember this: in nature, the darker the fruit/vegetable, the sweeter/better it tastes, and the more nutricious it is (assuming it's not poisonous like many wild berries). That's why bananas are actually better when they get some black spots on them. They have more potassium in them then.

I like the little mini ones, that are like 3 inches long :] Finger food that looks like fingers!

The bountiful harvest is finally arriving. I'm up to my arse in squash (and a few cukes and 'maters) Perhaps I should have staggered the planting.

Yup yup! And they are scrumptious! You'll have to try My-Ra's squash casserole sometime The best! I like the brussel sprouts too, but am about the only one here that does, so sometimes I'll spoil myself (little arrogant me ;-) I've seen a couple of harmless garden spiders out there, but nothing too nasty.
