I consider you a pioneer in blending the movie industry with the web when it comes to marketing and applying added-value to a movie's presence.

You've always been at the forefront in this regard, and am wondering how involved are you with the current ELF website -- did you offer input and ideas? It just amazes me how much content and 'goodies' can be found there, and I'm hedging that there's some 'Devlin' influence involved. Correct? If not, it's obvious people have taken a keen interest in your internet-based marketing history.

Secondly -- I'm curious as to why the release date was moved up. Were the powers that be concerned that the 19th would of hurt ELF's take-in at the boxoffice? Was Ford's new movie title K-19: The 'Widow'maker thought to be a conflict in some way?

Finally, I haven't received my invitation to the ELF premiere -- it's in the mail, right? [wink!] :o)

-=JAG!

Thanks for the compliments. We worked very closely with a terrific team headed by Don Buckley at Warner Bros. to develop the ELF web site. I think the site is terrific and the game, amazing (for a freebie).

As to the date moving up, I think the studio just wanted to give ELF a couple days to itself to try and build momentum going into a very tough weekend. Additionally, with Austin Powers openning up the following week, I think they just wanted to have a little breathing room.

The good news is that the film was not very expensive to make and we don't need to be the number one or two or third place film at the box office on openning weekend to secure financial success. This film was not made for everyone, so it was able to stay pure to itself.

I think the movie is great. The response by the press and the public (so far) has been wonderful. My fingers are crossed.

I hope you guys like it. Please post up and let us know what you thought when you get a chance to see it.

-Dean Devlin
