I've seen it today with my best friend! Yippeee...

We had tickets for the 11pm preview of the film. So we left at 10pm, should have taken us about 45 minutes to get to the theater. But noooooo... all of a sudden there was a traffic jam on the freeway. Dang!!

We arrived at about 11:45, right at the scene when Leon Rippy's character's ostrichs (?) "disappeared". ;]

Ah well... anyway, the "rest" of the film was really enjoyable.

I especially liked the spiders' "voices". ;)
And Doug E. Doug's character.
And Leon Rippy!
And ... ;)

It's really a fun film, a spider monster popcorn movie with a lot of comedy. I really liked it!

Besides I noticed in the end credits that German FX company MAGICMOVE made some miniature effects. I think it's great that Roland tries to include German companies into big effects films as often as possible, giving creative people here the chance to work on a big Hollywood project.

About the effects by CFX:
Das Werk - ELF page
Click on "Projects -> Current projects -> Eight Legged Freaks"

Traffic jams -- blech. Always happen at the worse times, don't they? -- Glad you enjoyed the movie. :o)

-=JAG!

hehe...

You're welcome, Andrea! ;)
My favorite scene
is the "perfume scene".
When you see the film
you'll know what I mean...
;o)
(So, watch for the perfume! ;o) )

Yeah, really blech, JAG! :]
But we had fun there, too... we were watching the other drivers -- especially the girls... hehehe =D

Hehe, Will, actually I was on the Autobahn... ;D
Searched for an English word for it and found "freeway".
Mebbe I shouldn't translate so much... ;o)

That makes sense - you're free to go as fast as you desire...just make sure to use your seatbelts and you might want to consider bolting in a roll bar for safety sake.

You mean you're allowed to watch other drivers while you're driving?? We're not allowed to do that over here. Thats what commercials are for.

hehehe... well, we were not driving actually... more like crawling... ;o)

...like spiders I was thinking of the Eclipse commercial. Have you seen the one that has that now famous song in it? In that case, the passenger was quite entertaining :o Advertising does have its impact..I can remember the time seeing a Chrysler Laser Turbo ad one time and going out the next day and getting one....of course, that was when I could. That new HummerH2 looks mighty tempting (putting down the wish book) More corporations should recall Henry T. Fords (I think) ideals which were to make/build as good a product as possible and to compensate those workers so they can buy those products!
rambling along...back to ELF's - I loved that town scene (filmed from above) where the spiders were jumping down the lighted streets after those cars!

Trust me Auric when I say this
"Autobahn" is one of those words we ALL know over here..
(it's a 'NICE' word )
Some Car commercials and racing commercials here talk about it a lot

Hmm To Translate or not to translate
THAT is the question..

Remember we are your friends.. if we are really not sure about that which you speak.. we WILL ask

My kids liked the spiders chacing the cars scene
*bark bark*

hehe... well I don't think I've ever seen any Eclipse commercial, Will. (What's Eclipse by the way?) :o]

hehehe Starr, a nice word indeed. ;)
Thanks! So you'll let me know when you got no idea what I'm saying... that's good. :o)

Oh, you're quoting my pal Shakespeare? ;o)

When shall we three meet again,
In thunder, lightning or in rain?

;)

We finally got a little thunder, lightning, and rain today, thank goodness! Not nearly as much as we need, but a slight re-leaf anyway.

If I had a multiple choice on "Autobahns" spelling, I think I could have gotten it.

Goldfinger, its a Mitsubishi commercial. I don't know who did the song or the name of it, but I've heard people talking about it and actually buying the CD.

So you long for some rain?
Here in Europe it's raining too much... :|
Floods everywhere.

CNN coverage:
Flood misery set to continue (August 15)
Dresden under waist-deep water (August 14)
Austria engulfed by record rainfall (August 14)

Ahh... hehehehe Nah, I don't like the rain much, just the fun scary stuff that comes with thunderstorms.

<-- getting MORE than enough rain right now. Too bad we didn't get this back in the spring when we actually NEEDED IT!
