In today's Daily Variety:

Electric floats 'Noah's' pitch
Devlin rains six figures on sci-fi actioner
By CHARLES LYONS and CATHY DUNKLEY
7/11/02

In a preemptive bid, Dean Devlin's Paramount-based Electric Entertainment has paid mid-six figures for "Noah," a sci-fi action pitch from writers Jan Skrentny and Neal Tabachnick.

Precise storyline is being kept under wraps, but sci-fi actioner centers on a young scientist's battle for survival.

"Jan and Neal have created something totally original with the concept for 'Noah,' " Devlin said. "The character of Noah becomes a sci-fi superhero, part comicbook, part everyman. The scope and energy of this potential franchise material makes it a perfect project for Electric Entertainment."

The pitch was brought into Electric Entertainment by Electric's head of development Marc Roskin. The Writers & Artists-repped Skrentny and Tabachnick did rewrites on Par's "The Italian Job" and sold their script "Traces" to Sony.

Devlin formed Electric last May, with a mind to develop and produce franchise-driven movies, television programs and interactive and music properties for the global audience.
