Mark your calendars. I caught this blurb in last Wednesday's Daily Variety:

"The Blockbuster Imperative," a documentary that takes a look at the industry's urge to churn out megahits as it sacrifices critical praise, will air at 9 p.m. March 16 on Trio. Paul Verhoeven, Bill Mechanic, Dean Devlin and Peter Guber are among featured interviewees.

Special was produced by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's World of Wonder as part of their two-year deal with Trio.

"Blockbuster" represents the flip side of the business -- net also will air "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls," a doc on '70s auteur filmmaking based on the bestseller by Peter Biskind. Month's programming will include uncut and letterboxed broadcasts of "Batman" and "Superman."

"Trio"? I'm from S. Texas, we barely get SciFi! Sounds like a great program. Someone watch it and let us know what Dean says. He's been a bit quiet lately. We only see him on credits and TV interviews as of late. :o)

-=JAG!
