I copied my earlier post from "Ask the film makers" as it seems to get very little traffic

Mr. Devlin,

Listen…I had this whole huge letter all written out but actually it got embarrassingly big so I decided to condense it down to some intriguing questions to which I believe I have a unique but simple and powerful answer. If you would like to respond I would be happy to tell you more in private.

-How to double (GARUANTEED) the attendance of the upcoming Mechwarrior movie
-How to leverage to the maximum extent possible the idea of buying video games based on the content and structure of the movie
-How to use the structure of the movie to pull international online gamers into competition with American gamers.
-How to virtually make certain that a sequel will be shot

I’m not a kid, I’m a grown man who happens to be an avid online gamer in the mech world. I know nothing about shooting movies. This idea just hit me and I knew instantly that it could be huge. If I’m right, and this works I really believe it could be the model for many other video game genres in the future.

Mr. Devlin…I truly hope that you’ll drop me a line because although I’m just a regular person…I know this could be very big. As you know, the movie and gaming industries are becoming more and more alike in the production sense but I believe Hollywood has missed the boat (so far). All I want is a chance to tell you more.

Sincerely,
David C.
dchurch@san.rr.com
