I was browsing the IMDB and saw that Emmerich has listed a movie called "Soul of the Age" I can remember I read somewhere it would be a movie about Sakespear (spell?) or somethine like that...it would be shoot in the UK... I read it because I was browsing the net for Johnny Depp, he made a movie called "The Libertine" at the Isle of Man and there I found the info that the movie would be shoot there, too and that it would be about Sakespear....
Emmerich has listed a lot of coming movies at the IMDB...as director and as producer...because I´m not longer a fan of Mister Emmerich himself, I really don´t know what´s going on..but I would like to know what is his next movie, because I think he made some good ones and the coming summer hasn´t a lot of good movies to come... "War of the worlds" sounds good, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", too.of course..but there seems not to be much more...Emmerich has always been that director who made great summer popcorn movies, but what did happen to him....?

Hi DarkAngel,

yes, there are several projects in the production pipeline at Centropolis. I've been doing some "research" on the net about it because I wanted to update the "rumor" parts of the films section of CENTROPOHOLICS.com.

Soul of the Age will be a historic drama about intrigues on the work of William Shakespeare. The film is about the idea of Shakespeare not having written his plays, but instead just having given his name for them in order to get money.
The project is currently in pre-production. Shooting is scheduled to start in September this year in England and the Isle of Man.

The Girls Next Door will be a thriller/roadmovie directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner, who previously made the film Sommersturm, which Emmerich saw and made him want to work with Kreuzpaintner. The film is about a white ex-cop and a latino boy that together try to rescue their daughter and sister from prostitution. It will be shot in Mexico and the US. The project is also in pre-production, and shooting is scheduled for autumn this year.

Another film listed at IMDb is The 1 Second Film. This is a very interesting project. It is about a film consisting of only 12 frames, that show paintings that were done by hundreds of people and will each be displayed twice (to get the 24 frames of a film second), and a 60-minute documentary that will show how these paintings were created, accompanied by the end credits. Credits are sold over the film's website http://www.the1secondfilm.com/. The money donated will be used to finalise the film, and beyond that will also go to the Global Fund For Women. Many celebrities have already donated, a complete listing is available on the film's website. Roland also donated 20 dollars for the film, which brought him a credit as a Producer on the film.
(I'm thinking about donating some money, too, so I would get my own page at IMDb. :o) )

Another project listed is One Nation, which was called The Anthem before. The script will be written by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who co-wrote The Day After Tomorrow with Emmerich. As stated at IMDb, the film is "a political thriller, where the impeached U.S. president refuses to leave the White House, and a federal agent is about to discover the origins of a conspiracy of national interest."
Shooting for the film will likely begin next year, though IMDb lists it as begin currently "in production".
The president might be played by Harrison Ford (who already played the US president in Wolfang Petersen's Air Force One) or Sam Shepard.

And then there is King Tut still up in the air. Emmerich always wanted to make a film about ancient Egypt, so this is a sort of dream project for him (besides having included Egyptian culture in Stargate). It will be about Tutanchamun, who was a very young Egyptian Pharao that ruled Egypt in 1333 to 1323 B.C., and that died aged only 18 to 20.

Of course I must add that all of the above are just rumors, so they might prove to be incorrect or completely false even.

But I hope to have shed some light on the list.

-Stefan

Thank you very much for the update dear Stefan. Soul of Age and the King Tut projects sound very good. I think that could be movies I´ll looking forward.
One Nation, I don´t know, sounds typical Emmerich, the White House, the US president... he had have enough movies about that kind of things, isn´t it? At least that´s my opinion.
I hope he´ll make Soul of Age or King Tut as next...could be great movies.

Nope. I saw this on the IMDB and asked it myself some months ago, and Dean confirmed that Roland is not officially attached to this project.

It's slated for a 2007 release, and Bill Goldberg (the wrestler) has already been signed to play Napa. No other cast has been well... cast yet. I hope they get Jason Scott Lee (Dragon: The Bruce Lee story, Soldier) to play Goku. He's pretty buff now, and has the personality.

As for Vegeta, no clue.
