Hi. Did anyone here catch the Walking with Dinosaurs special Allosaurus that was on a while back. I thought it was interesting how they showed that the Allosaurus had a mix of crocodilian and bird like features.

Greetings, ~Kim

Darn! I missed that.

Allosaurus was always one of my two favorite (Factual) Dinosaur species.
Oh, well, It'll be available on Videocasette before much longer...

I always liked the Lambeosaurs. The duckbilled Dinosaurs with the bony crests on top of their heads, Iguanadon 'the iguana toothed lizared' and Apatosaurus( the Dinosaur formally known as Brontosaurus).

~Kim

Yeah, it is pretty cool. There's going to be a special on all about the feathered Dinos on the Discovery channel on July 15. It will be pretty interesting to hear what they say about them.

OK, now you guys are talking!

I can't talk much about the Visitor, but dinosaurs, I used to know a lot. I find now, I'm not up to date on all the new findings. I did indeed watch the Allosaurus special, and it was great. Very well done.

I am barely keeping up myself Rick. And people used to take me to the Natural History museum just because I was the only person they knew who could pronounce the names :]

I personally found Allosaurus fairly boring. I mean, he's cool, but when you immerse yourself in the hundreds of different species, Allosaurus is pretty 'tame' by comparison :]

One of my early faves was Antrodemus. (Probably 'coz of the name :] I *think* he was later grouped in with Allo's, but I dont' remember. I think he was actually a little bulkier than ol' Al.

Meglosaurus was a cool one if I remember, how about Ceratosaurus? Anyway, with all the new finds recently....I feel I'm lagging in the dino knowledge department.

Dinosaur was the most depressing film I've seen in a long time. How can they make a movie for kids where almost everyone dies either from forces of nature or being eaten. The rest are killing or leaving others behind to die. Except for a precious few who everyone else keeps calling stupid...

Nice lesson there.

Just keep plodding along pretending there are NO predators behind you because the slower folks will slow them down by getting eaten. Keep on going and hopefully the nice allosaur to come along and save you because you're plodding directly to your own death. Mind you, he'll only arrive to save you if he doesn't get himself killed trying to help the ones you don't care about, including one who fought to save you only to be left behind because his bleeding will draw the predators away...

I liked the Emperor's New Groove about a THOUSAND times better! Play nice with others because the bad guy always gets what's coming to him. Or her... LOL And loneliness sucks no matter HOW much money you have!
