I find it hard to believe with all the science going on lately, that we lack the "spirit" to post our thoughts about the latest Mars missions especially since we have the "opportunity" on this board. (Yes I know, pathetic puns, but you read them anyway, didn't you?) :o)

Spirit's pics were breathtaking, and just when you thought you'd seen it all, Opportunity's pics just throw you for a loop. Incredible stuff.

Forget the Superbowl -- NASA's got game!

-=JAG!

Dunno....looked a lot like Arizona to me. LOL I ain't never gonna go there, so it doesn't fascinate me all that much. I know what them other planets iz made of. They were all made by the same Creator. ;)

And this Creator made them all the same, yes?
No imagination? No Variety?
Nothing of interest out there at all. ;)

Whilst I haven't had much time to peruse the available photos, I have been following these probes.

My thinking is that they should have had FOUR landers.
Two with just dummy probes & sensor packages to read the info required to land the actual Probot thingies without BREAKING them . :P

Really, it's kinda spooky how many things we throw at that little orange rock that dissapear!
We'll finally get there & find all our probes dissasembled & sorted by manufacturer.
(Martians dislike peeping toms....)

ROFL!!! I agree. Wonder what they must think of us. hehehe "What a bunch of curious little children, always leaving their toys laying around."

As far as what it is? A buncha red rocks. :oP Almost as exciting a landscape as Saskatchewan!

Oh, but the Saskatchewan landscape is graced by the beautiful breats, er, mounds, er hills er.. Sher and Starr's greatness. So much so, any "rover" would take notice. :o)

-=JAG!

By the way, I'm still messing around with my 3D software and thought -- with all this Mars stuff going on, I'd create a quick anim.

http://www.planetjag.com/jaganims.html -- If you have a chance, check out "Mars Orbit".

-=JAG!

You know, I have yet to see an *actual* photo taken from Spirit. But I have plenty of people sending me parody images (like one with a Walmart off in the distance. I emailed him back and said "It should be Starbucks, not walmart.")

Yeah, I've seen a pic that supposedly explains why Spirit went quiet for a bit. It was a picture of an "alien" and Spirit parts strewn all over the place. :o)

Visit the link below so you can check out the images.

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html

-=JAG!

Did they by any chance have Microsoft software installed on it? Why else the need for the "reboot"? ;)

Actually, I read somewhere that the rovers use JAVA -- with no Windoze in sight.

I can see it now. All news networks plugged into a live feed from the Rover. Mission control pushes the button to "wake" the rover up and the familiar blue screen of death appears. :o)

-=JAG!

Well some little Martian youngster has a neat toy. I think they're still chasing opportunity, though. Game??? How 'bout them Panthers!!!!!!!!!!
Go Carolina!
