Posted this previously a few months ago. I know some have said that it's not likely, but I'm trying anyway. Here you are Dean.

--Begin Post--
I must admit that I'm another immense fan of the Dean Devlin/Roland Emmerich magical moviemaking tour dé force. Having my first experience with ID4, (collecting all the toys, too!) and subsequent withdrawal of not being able to find a video store with Moon 44.

I do have a suggestion for Dean, pending Dean still having a burning desire to do Stargate sequels.

With my purchase of the Ultimate Edition Stargate, I immediately noticed a shocking difference in the film, as it was lightened and color casts were redone. All the bluish casts were removed, enhancing the golden light of the desert scenes. Absolutely stunning! Breathtaking!

Dean, since we are on the cusp of the 10th anniversary release of Stargate in theaters, why not re-release the Director’s Cut, possibly for a summer release? Show the enhanced movie the way it should be seen….

A few reasons why this could be good:

1. You already have an established fan base for the movies with the added bonus of capturing kids who were too young for the PG-13 MPAA rating.
2. The opportunity to go back and add crucial elements to the plot or CGI.
3. Clean up/enhance the current CGI/special effects with the latest technology Hollywood has to offer.
4. And, of course, all the licenses for new toys, lunchboxes, personal stargates for your own off-world travels.
5. If enough money is made on the new release, MGM’s mouth will water at all the money it made and give yourself and Roland the leverage to make those sequels with many, many millions for making them.

If I think of any more reasons, I’ll post them. Heck, I’ll just start a Re-release Stargate Web Site. I’ve got friends who can help me promote the site and hopefully generate enough interest for MGM to work with this, as well as doing the series. Though releasing the movie may promote/hurt the Stargate SG-1 series.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the series, but there’s nothing like the original.

Again, thanks for having this board to post to and good luck with Electric Entertainment, Dean!

Chris S.
