I'm talking specific controls. There's a horrible drift (and it's not my controller, although my controller is a good 4+ years old, it's still in good shape and calibrated regularly), and while "full immersive control" experience is good, I think there's *too much* specific control. A good dog fight game/sim should give you rudder and yaw control (of course), and weapons control, but you need a seperate key to even open the bomb bay doors! Each different level (I believe there are 3 of them) requires it's own command. There are a lot of features that could be grouped into one control that are spread out too far. In a game like that, I don't want to have to hunt and peck for a key on the keyboard (which is difficult by itself because I have no light here, and am used to just feeling for the little pip on the "f" or "j" key and going from there. But doing so in this game will get me killed!
Also, there should DEFINETLY be an auto pause when you go into the help or settings screen. The game as is, seems so unrefined it's not funny. If you crash, the only way to restart the game is to exit and restart, and go through that training round (yes, I know you can quit the flight and get into the normal 'you're in control' flight, but it's still a hassle overall).
I'll be the first one to admit I'm not very good at these games (give me homing missiles and an unlimited ammo cheat code any day ;) ), but it's even worse when dealing with an unresponsive, or worse, overly complicated, or absolute worst, BOTH, control scheme.
For the record, my controller is a Belkin Nostromo, no analog sticks, so I do have to set the sensitivity in the stick sets fairly low to avoid roll overs and whatnot.

the stick settings is the key to the stick. as for me i use a logitech extreme 3d pro with ch rudder pedals.. i use the same setup in all sims i have played.. as for the keys you can go into settings and remap them to whatever keys you choose so you wont have to relearn and new keys and they wont be to far away. and as for getting killed and having to restart the game.. are you sure your flying "Flyboys Squadron"?
because all i do when i crash is click the fly button again or if i crash land i hit the exit plane button on the botom right, and that puts me back in tower.....

I'm not playing online. I'm just going through the learning "game" (which as the demo flight, then lets you control the plane).
I know about remapping the keys, but that's the point, whether you learn the defaults, or remap, there's still WAY too many individual controls that are unnecessary.
When I crashed (which happened while I was adjusting the settings, ironically), I never had the option to exit the plane, or fly again.

All flight sims have lots of tasking.
If you complain about tasking, then you are complaining about all flight sims save for ones that are arcade style instead true simulations.
Now getting online can be frustrating because the better fight sim players usually find these sims before the hype hits and already have an advantage in experience.
Flying whether simulated or not is all about experience in that an experienced pilot will enjoy an advantage.......until his opponents get enough experience to get a good feel for the dynamics of air combat maneuvers.
You cannot even jump into the original falcon or strike eagle without finding similar tasking workload.
Is the zeppelin and it's monster bombload included?

Then I'm complaining about all flight sims :) It's not my favorite genre, and I guess I'm expressing how frustrating it is for someone to just "jump in" to such a game.

I'm not much of a gamer (though I'm deadly on "Death From Above") but I agree that this a beautiful piece of engineering! Visually, it's beautiful and what little time I had to play today, was engrossing. Kudos to the developer(s)!

After the intro-movie, the start-splashscreen is to big.
I see a little piece from the screen only. I cannot start
the game because there are no buttons to click. They
are invisible or on the other side of the splashscreen.
I have all new driver (Nvidia and directX).
Greetings from germany.
