it would be awesome to meet, Dean -- but not like this...

Looks pretty ominous, doesn't it? -- let's look at the models...

Right above the "25N" line on the left side, you can barely make out the tip of Texas.. I'm near there. Obviously, we'll be keeping an eye as these things change all the time. As for "Erin", so far not much but a quick shower -- may get some more rain and wind tomorrow, but nothing compared to a dead-center strike.

We know of course, how Dean likes to destroy famous landmarks and important US sites... :D

However, since it IS Texas... there should be nothing to worry about, until the storm finally reaches L.A.

On a more serious note... keep safe Jag... Cane's ain't nothing to mess with...

I know people tend to gain weight when they're not steadily working, but c'mon Mr. D. 900 miles wide? That's overdoing it a bit :P

Btw, Dean is now officially a category 5 hurricane (160+ mile an hour winds). Batten down the hatches!

Thanks for the good wishes, all.

It appears "Dean" will not visit after all. *Whew* We may get a few rain bands and some gusty winds here and there, but nothing compared to the path of destruction he's left behind.

We lucked out. But, we're definitely due, and it's only a matter of time before our luck runs out.
