Hey guys,

If everything goes well I will be visiting the United States in August for the first time together with several other Filmakademie students to attend the world's largest conference on computer graphics: SIGGRAPH 2008 (http://www.siggraph.org/s2008/). That means I will be in Los Angeles for a couple of days starting in 3 weeks.

Is there anything I mustn't miss in L.A. when I have some time off? I heard Hollywood Boulevard and Grauman's Chinese Theatre are worth seeing. Anyone up for a small gathering? ;)

I'm really excited about the trip, but the 16-hour-flight will be tough I guess. On the weekend before SIGGRAPH starts we will also briefly visit San Francisco.

California here I come. :)

Yes, we've returned last week, and I gotta say it was a very interesting trip, both visiting the USA and the SIGGRAPH for the first time. We've taken well over a thousand photos as well. :)
I just can't find the time to upload some of them and post more details about the trip at the moment. Studies and working as a VFX freelancer is keeping me busy.

And you didn't even stop by to visit me?!

(okay, granted it would have been about 3000 miles out of your way, but still!)

Hey Auric! Did you have fun while you were here? When my friend Jason visited from England he was shocked by the size of food portions at places where we dined.

What was your favorite part?

Hi Lisa!

Yes we really had a great time. My favorite part was the short trip to San Francisco on the first weekend, walking over the Golden Gate Bridge and visiting Coit Tower and Pier 39 were highlights for me. We also visited Industrial Light & Magic at the Presidio, Pixar in Emeryville and back in L.A. DreamWorks Animation in Glendale. Need I say that it was a cool trip? ;)

Here's a picture of me in San Francisco:

Did you happen to stop by Fiddler's Green? It was once one of my favorite places.

We missed that one. Gotta check it out next time. Thanks for the hint.
