Geiko totalled my truck today... This is the second time that this has happened, and it makes me wonder what point there is in getting any more than basic liabillity insurance on my truck. :/ On the brighter side, they are letting me keep the truck, plus they will give me five hundred dollars, which should at least get me four new tires. I am hoping the wheel rims were not dammaged by the tow truck driver though. They are also not going to drop us, like State Farm did.

Maurine

Geico sucks, plan and simple. They claim they can shave X amount of dollars off your insurance. Well, thing is, they're not really cheaper, they just trim the coverage you get. Liability is required by law, but the truth is you need accident coverage and several others, because statistically speaking, you WILL be involved in one! But cut rate insurances like Geico don't even provide for half the available coverage out there, which is why they don't drop people as readily as some insurances, because it's not like you had a choice to get certain types of coverage with them. They're just happy you signed up!

Hey, consider yourself lucky they let you write the vehicle off TWICE. Up here, once a write-off, all you'll get after that is liability. Not unless you go through the trouble of getting an appraiser and arbitrator. My poor Phoenix is a "previous total loss vehicle" from the owners before me. (Hailstorm damage)
