Did you know that on this day in 1982 Canada officially became an independent <BR>nation? Canada had been unofficially governing herself since 1867 but on <BR>March 25, 1982 Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain signed the Canada Act which <BR>ratified the Canadian Constitution and made the country officially independent. <BR> <BR>It took 115 years to achieve but Canada reached her independence without any <BR>bloodshed.

Yep, but that time, the Queen was nothing more than a perty thing to put in a parade anyway. We've always had our independence. They just made it official in 1982. <IMG SRC="http://www.electric-ent.com/bbs/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":)">

Hm, not that I would want to appear nit-picking or something... but it's not the queen actually, but the mother of the queen, and as far as I know she was 101 years old... <IMG SRC="http://www.electric-ent.com/bbs/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":)"> <BR> <BR>... without any bloodshed... my congratulations to Canada!
