She did. Both Sheri and I are notorious hand coders. The last of a dying breed...

Heck yeah. Is there any other way, Diaz? I do ALL the sites I build that way. WYSIWYG sucks and is very creatively limiting, imho. I spend more time re-vamping everyone else's MS Front Page nightmares. ;-)

I like to liken WYSIWYG to paint-by-numbers. Sure, it's a short cut, but it's limiting and hard to paint outside the lines. And it doesn't give you enough colours to do what you really wanna do with it. Whereas with a set of paints and a blank canvas, you can go nuts! (The artist in me speaking out)

i dont use front page. I use an app called ultradev. Ive never had a problem with colors. 16 million seems suffice. Do you work with php,asp or any other formats? Databasing?

I have Ultra Dev, but never use it. Colors? What problems with colors? I was just using the paint by number as an analogy.

I have worked with PHP, yes, and have it installed here on my Apache webserver. I'm also well voiced with CGI/perl. A little ASP, but not a lot, because I loathe Winbloze servers. (I run Linux on this machine) I know enough Javascript to get by, and can do Flash too. But most of my clients' needs are cross-browser, fast loading, clean design, so that's what I spend most of my time doing. Don't get much opportunity to "play" with designs. Except with this one:

http://www.electricalimagingdynamics.com

hahaha Kinda sorta not really. The photo is mine....I like to chase storms, and it's one of my collection.

The lightening began as one of EE's, but then I digitally split it and branched it out. So, dunno...it's kinda inspired by it, but it's not really it anymore.

Alas MOST schools now days teach WYSIWYG's
I know Sheri taught ME to hand code.. but when I went to school they was forcing me to learn Dreamweaver...
( I just kept the code window open and switched to the drag and drop when ever the instructor came near)

I was the ONLY one in the class that had NO problems with my project.. MY code was clean...
theirs had ALL kinds of CRAP in it..

Handcoders are being TAUGHT out...
we can't allow this to happen...

I DO tend to use an "editor" instead of notepad as it turns all the tags pretty colours so it is easier to read and find things...
but thats all.. Conveniance on the eyes.

My 2 cents worth
