I've been having so much fun playin with my improved racecar this year, AND now thanks to Starr, I've been playing with some digital video footage of it that she filmed for me the other day. Imported the raw video into Adobe Premiere, and have been experimenting with it. (Never done video editing before in my LIFE!!!) I managed to splice two clips together, edited out the boring stuff, and even put an overlay music track for a brief intro. Still gotta learn how to do stuff like fade ins, transitions, and making the soundtracks the right volume, but hey, for a first day, I did not bad.

Anyhoo, y'all have heard more than enough about my car, but only Starr's seen (and experienced! hehe!) it in full motion video, soooo, I thought I'd post this link here for y'all. It's 6.8megs MPG. Should play in quicktime and windows media player no probs. (It does in mine anyway) You on slower connections might have better luck right-clicking and Save As to disk then view it. :-)

http://dragracing.kicks-ass.net/racecar.mpg

Disclaimer: Kiddies, do NOT try this at home. Even though you see my 5yr old in the back seat cheering me on (hehehe) this is not something I'd recommend for just anyone. And nooo, *A*, I ain't gonna tell ya the Hwy #. ;-)

Tomorrow I take 'er out to the racetrack again. Had it out last night for awhile, but she's got so much power, she keeps spinning fan belts off. We HOPE we have at least a temporary fix until we can get a serpentine pulley/belt system installed. Don't wanna be boiling my engine down!! (Fan belt come off, fan no turn, fan no turn, radiator boils over!)

Btw, she ran a high E.T. of 14.78 so far, 96 mph, at the end of the quarter mile. (Only got 4 runs in last night though...kept spinnin' belts) YEEEHAWWW!!!! I finally have a 14 second car. (Sure, it's not a 10second car like in Fast and the Furious, but it still kicks @ss. Just ask Starr what it felt like riding in it. hehehe)

Thanks, Starr!

Update....found a sorta kinda cure for the fan belt problem. I made 16 runs yesterday before it spun off. But the best E.T. to date is now 14.34 YEEEEHAWWWW!!!

But of course, from this point on, every tenth we can have off that time, becomes more and more expensive. We're in that fine line between affordability and $$$$ now. ;-)

I know what you mean, babe. "He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, he has kept the faith" - St. Paul

Need some belt dressing?

Just as a suggestion.. Have your Camerawoman on the RIGHT side of the car when doing burnouts like that.
(This IS the one you sent me, right? only 35% DL'd as I type this).

At least untill you get that Posi rear end in the thing.
Burnouts are much more impressive if you can see a wheel spinning.. ;)
