Greetz all,

JAG! is back from the SCIFI convention in Dallas. Except for a video tape showing the Eight Legged Freaks trailers, I didn't see the cast nor the movie as detailed in the April newsletter. Guess if Dean wasn't going, it meant no one else either. But....

It was a blast nevertheless... It wasn't as big of an event as I thought it would be, but, there was definitely a crowd... The StarWars franchise ruled the show. Lots of Darth Vaders and other assorted SW characters roaming around... Some of the costumes were quite authentic... Was able to take pictures and if anyone's interested, I'll post 'em up for ya'll to see, when they're developed...

The goodies I was able to acquire you wonder?..

An autograph picture of Robert LeParmentier (Admiral Motti) as well as a picture taken with him...

I walked up to the man -- very nice, but also candid... As I approached he stated "I wish this wasn't a 'dry county', I could sure use a bloody mary." :o)

I also lucked out and was able to obtain an autograph photo of Kate Mulgrew (Ala Captain Janeway from ST: Voyager) -- that was one of the highlights on this trip.

NewTek (The Lightwave people) did an hour presentation of the software... Very interesting, and was able to walk away with a Cd for Aura DV/Paint..

Even though I didn't see Electric, I was able to get some Topp cards for Independence Day -- Some images on those cards were not in the original movie -- perfect for an ID4 fan like myself...

I was also able to obtain a film cell for Godzilla.. Apparently given out during the First Showing on May 19,1998..

I wonder if I can get Dean's signature on some of these? :o)

It was about 10 years since I had been to Dallas.. and I had a good time revisiting my old stompin' grounds. Overall the trip was awesome! Of course, would of been the icing on the cake had I met Dean -- but, maybe some other time...

Just thought I'd check in and give you all a synopsis.

-=JAG!

not too bad. I've seen them on ebay for much more. I got mine right at the theatre though :] (speaking of which, G98 opened 4 years ago today, officially :]

I got one of those film cells too on the first day for Godzilla...my question is, did we all get the same film cell, or where they all different?

not sure. I think there were 10 different cells. Or 12, something like that. Mine is back in NY right now, so I can't tell you what mine was.
