Okay, Windblows users, right click on the clouds to the left (when viewing "Topics"). Choose Set As Wallpaper. Minimize all screens and right click on your wallpaper. Select properties, background tab, and set the Display to "stretch." Cool huh? I haven't changed my wallpaper in YEARS. But this one was too good to pass up. [grin]

Not quite, fairy agent Pat :] (sorry, reference to an old story).

That image to the left is only one strip. It's all you see there. It's not the entire front logo image just cut off by the frame.
Agent Pat (Agentpat)

Funghi, who said I wanted the logo? I just like the clouds. And I know it's just a strip - which is why I suggested folks "stretch" the image. Four vertical strips across my desktop looked stupid. As far as the logo, if folks want that, they can go to the main page and fetch it there. ;o)

I'm just saying, when it's stretched (especially on a 1024 or higher res, which I know at least you, Sheri, and myself share in common) it looks horrible.

Suit yourself. I like it. It reminds me of a fine veinacava pattern in smoky marble.

hmm... maybe it's because of Netscape... the page loads in IE... :oÞ

The Centropolis email service doesn't work right though. It fails to load "normal.css" and "globals.js". The files seem to be missing. ?

Auric, dear Javascript mastermind...you of all people should know that if you outsource a JS file and it's not actually uploaded, the page won't finish loading. ;-) Sure, I could *make* the page load by turning Javascript off, but then what features would I be missin out on? ;-)

Do I detect some unfavorable attacks towards Netscape?!? That's it, everyone with MSIE will get Netscape 1.0 for Xmas this year -- which we all is better than MSIE 5.5 :oP

-=JAG!

Darn tootin! ;-)

"Those who know, use Netscape."

If you want to invite viruses in, ga head and use IE. Not me!

The only virus problem with IE is the fact that people can set their own security levels, and most don't. So :Þ~~``''""pbt!

Why don't you finish the statement, Sheri?
"Those who know, use Netscape as an example of what NOT to do" :]
Tina (Trina)

hahaha

Those who know, that IE would drive them crazy, use Netscape...

Dear Sheri! :oP

The page has always loaded for me and my IE... don't blame me for Netscape... ;-P
Sheri Gordon (Sheri)
05-16-2001, 10:49 AM
Stefan....because IE is too stupid to realize there was an error. ;-) I'll bet you didn't see the CSS. >:-pPpPpPpP

Fungie...IE having security settings. Sounds too complicated. How many users know how to change them? I bet less than 25%. I know that 120 out of 125 IE users on my EAG list don't know how. Oooh, IE schmart move, eh? ;-P (And considering that most IE users are folk who took their computer right out of the box and used whatever "Internet thing" came with it.) Good for the mass market? I hardly think so. Why do you think the use of Outlook Express and IE have been *banned* by many workplaces with LANs? Ask Lee sometime about how many times they've had to deal with the effects of Outlook's use by the average non-computer-genius. ;-P

Shall we turn this into a Netscape (Mozilla) vs IE war? *giggle*

Sheri, on the "internet options" setting, there's an entire tab dedicated to security! All people need to do is adjust a little slider thingy and viola!

"People who know (what they're doing) use IE"

:]

"People who are gluttons for punishment use Netscape"

Besides, NS is owned by AOL, so it's just going further and further down the drain :] At least IE keeps it's level of suckiness at a standard :]
Sheri Gordon (Sheri)
05-16-2001, 12:05 PM
Yeah, but AOL still has their hands in the IE pie too. >:-P

As for folk who know what they're doing...HAH. That's a select few. ;-) You keep using your little IE. Meanwhile, the rest of us deal with the dummies who use IE and come wailing "HOW do I do this?" or "HOW COME this does this?" or "But I don't see where to click?" or "Oh, but this Pretty park is just SO cute!"

>;-P

See, but it's us few who know what we're doing who answer all your "how do I..." questions! So HA!

We is good for something afterall :]

(you have to admit though, IE does have a better tag base, it supports so much more than NS, yet it's a smaller core download! THIBERT!!!)
Agent Pat (Agentpat)
05-16-2001, 01:18 PM
Sher, real simple, just send all the folks who e-mail YOU with stupid IE questions to the experts for their answers. That work for you, oh Fungus-o-mungus? ;o)
Sheri Gordon (Sheri)
05-16-2001, 03:22 PM
hehehe Prepare to be inundated by idiots. *giggle* (I mean that in the most polite way, of course.)

Mozilla.org is actually setting a standard, that even IE will eventually be based on. So, I'm keeping a close eye on it's developments. Netscape has always been derived from Mozilla. Blame AOL and it's stupidity for taking a rough draft of the latest Mozilla browser and releasing it as Netscape 6. *shakes head* Netscape 6 doesn't even deserve the name Netscape. ;-) (See what happen when AOL get's their fingers in things? Netscape 4.7 all the way, man! Down with AOhelL!)

Fungus....IE *does* have a big download. It's call W-I-N-D-O-W-S. ;-) Won't run w/o it. hehehe (While Netscape and and does run on Mac and Unix/Linux) It's IE's uncanny knack for running stuff in Windows w/o askin ya that gets it into trouble all the time too. VBS anyone? ;-P Give me browser, but stay the heck out of my OS! heehee

...A while back I believe someone said (Chris comes to mind) that she tried to delete MSIE, and her Windows OS wouldn't work anymore. Krappy huh?

If I remove Netscape, guess what? The OS still works. :oPpp Don't believe me? Try removing your MSIE. Ga'head, I dare ya!

-=JAG!

Because they have no choice? >;Þ

but at least people can choose to install Netscrape.

Man, what the heck are people smoking when they make that decision?!

Opera does kick butt. It's a small download, but doesn't support a lot of coding. Still, for it's efficiency, it's better than IE and NS (especially NS :Þ
