Sheri, I don't want to hear you or Starr complaining again about how cold it is up there until you've had to sleep in 18 degree weather sans heat for 3 days!

:]

Yes, got hit pretty bad by that ice storm, knocked out electricity wednesday night about 11:10pm. We finally got it back about 6:30 pm tonight (saturday). I woke up this morning only to see... my breath! Walked around the house with about 6-7 layers of clothing. (two pairs of socks, sweat pants, athletic shorts, sweatshirt, fleece pullover and then a hooded sweatshirt).

I don't know who else here may have been hit, except possibly Will (south Carolina got some of this stuff too), so I hope everyone is well, with or w/o electricity.

Anyone ever heard of a Fireplace?

heheheh

I do hope everyone's okay though. You guys just ain't as tough as we are to handle those kinds of temps.

(18 degrees, woohoo!! Heat wave! >:-P )

The further south ya go, the less likely you are to have a fireplace in the home. The house I grew up in in Queens, NY, didn't have a fireplace. I have two in my home in Boston however, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've used either of them since I moved in 10 years ago.

Maybe Fungus doesn't have a fireplace in his house? I bet he could throw a stone in three different directions and it would still land in a swimming pool though. ;o)

It's an apartment complex. Yes, there's a swimming pool here somewhere (they hide it very well, but legend tells of one), but certainly no fireplaces (I don't think our two neighbors upstairs would appreciate it). Tis a three story complex.

Pat,
I'm a bit further south than you and it snowed here. Wet and freezing! a whole lot of mini hard snowballs fell from the sky, covering the ground white. I had to ICQ Sheri and bask by the warmth of her roaring fire. And it's supposed to be summer here!!!

So much for my proposed sunbaking...I'm so white I glow in the dark.

Fungus, the pool is out the back. look out yer window and you'll kids ice skating on it. heheh

I used to live in an apartment complex, on the first floor, and we had a fireplace. Not a very functional one, but it burned stuff up.

First Jaggy tells me to huff and puff and blow the cold air down to ya'll. Now do I have to suck and suck to draw the warm air back up?

Don't answer that question. :-Þ

It may be next month or before. Depends on how fast I finish the prelims before full swing into development.

Doing all the work here saves me paying US tax...and it's cheaper for everyone not to see my ugly mug too often.

Be careful Fungus, I might be volunteering you...!

Now where did I put that "Don't Panic!" poster...?

Glad you guys are all back on line (power-wise) now. Its been unusually cold here, (For here, though nothing like further North) And don't cha know it would get cold while local night filming of the movie "Radio" was going on. It got in the mid twenties with a little brisk wind added. This movie has a very powerful storyline and should be well worth seeing. Stars Cuba Gooding Jr.,(Snow Dog, Sher!) Ed Harris, Debra Winger, and others. This one has called for thousands of extras. I've done one day and one to go. Wifey froze her tootsies off a few nights and got to meet Ed Harris, the real "Radio" (Mr. Kennedy) and Cuba Gooding Jr.! Gina who was part of the award winning Hair and makeup dept. from The Patriot was there too! It has been a blessing...my sons first ever real paycheck will come from a movie! He was fortunate enough to be picked as a reporter/photographer on the sidelines of the football field and got so cold a few times, considered wimping out,but with a little convincing hung in there.
I'm going horse, "Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon rind, look at the scoreboard and see who's behind! U,U,U,U,U!

Oh, and I've seen Capt. Mike Hillar's (Independence Day) spittin' freakin' image. Nice guy, and I do mean look alike! You won't believe it.
If anyone knows Adam Sandler, let him know his bannister slide was great, and next time put a carpenter to work doing a few modifications so he can do it on his feet with his socks on.
