BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - One of Thailand's most celebrated tigers, part of a den kept at a Buddhist temple, has died after being poisoned. Three other tigers at the Luang Ta Bua temple were seriously ill after eating chicken meat laced with strong pesticide fed to them by an unknown man on Tuesday. The authorities have no clue of the killer's identity or his motive, said Chalermchai Pantachote, chief of Sai Yoke district west of Bangkok, said Wednesday. The dead tiger was a female named Nan Fa - "Airborne" - who died after 30 minutes of convulsions. Buddhist temples are traditional sanctuaries for stray dogs, but the presence of tigers has made news. Several newspapers printed photos of the monks riding the backs of the beasts and engaging in other horseplay.

WHY??

Oh man. When I was in Texas I got to see the world's oldest known Oak Tree. Some idiot tried to poison it too. They called in botanists from all over the world to save it. At least they were given a warning by said git about the poisoning.

How sick.

Almost as bad as a group of kids who ran a prized warmblood horse to his death. The went into his pasture, and whooped and hollered to scare him, right through the fence out onto the highway.

WHY???

People seem to like to take something that is held by others as beautiful....especially if it is not held as beautiful by themselves. I wonder why it is? Are they jeleous of the abillity of others to embrace something that they have yet to be able to embrace?

Maurine

It seems human nature is inherently cruel. Which is why our various spiritual benefactors keep telling us to love one another. It's becoming painfully obvious that we need it "beaten" into us to love and be kind.

Doesn't it seem strange that the more self help books are printed the more miserable people get? And the more angry? Road rage, school shootings, animal abuse.

Not to mention, something recently in Japan. Very tragic. An elementary school janitor, 36 years old, went into the school and started stabbing kids. like 8 died! and they were only 7 years old! He said "I figured if I killed some of the kids of some important rich people that they would put me to death."

This is because he failed to commit suicide! So he was too much a coward to try it again (not that I endorse it), and decided to give the law a reason to do it to him!

so much stuff... the 19 year old kid, who when 15, kidnapped, raped and murdered an 11 year old boy (and the perp was a boy too) who was going door to door for the PTA...

Another one in Japan who killed his elderly neighbor just because he wanted to watch someone die...

I'm gonna go in the corner and cry now :~(((((((

I do not think, it is human nature to be 'inherently cruel'. It's quite the opposite imho. Anywhere I read or heard the following: "Love is a natural feeling, hate is not. Hate has to be taught." I believe very much in that. Show me one person, who doesn't want to be loved. Everyone wants to be loved, noone really wants to be hated. People, who are committing crimes like that, have severe psychological problems. I would say they are very scared of anything or/and are suffering a lot under a huge lack of self-confidence.

I also do not know, why so many cruel things have to happen. But I know that there's always a fragile human soul behind, who cries out for love.
