Thank God he lost?????? Bush at first said he didn't think there was any global warming....now he says there is, but that it may not be being caused by man made causes, and so more research is needed....this guy is a freaking idiot. He is a puppet to big business just like his daddy was/is. And I can gaurantee that just like his daddy, the morron won't see another vote for president. He is an absolute moron...sold his soul to big business. He doesn't care what happens to the environment, our country's economic status is more important. What the hell? Are you aware that he either tried to pass, or succeded in pasing a law that allowed yet more roads into federal lands, so that even more strip mining and clear cutting can go on? How does that benefit me? It doesn't, it only benifits the people getting ahold of the resources on the federal lands for baically a steal. And let's ask some people from California what they think of weed whacker Bush. Stupid dick.

Maurine

Still has higher morals than Gore.

btw, by all statistics (and I'm not talking government crap either, I'm talking legit statistics) for the temperature to go up even a degree from the coriolis effect (green house effect) would take MUCH more than a couple of hundred years at the CURRENT LEVEL (which is higher than any point since before the 80's). It's NOT man made pollution that's causing it. Not entirely. They just don't know what is causing it, and because people are screaming "green house!" they have to 'calm the mass hysteria down'. This isn't just Bush, it's been every president (and politician for that matter) since the 'green house effect' became a public term.

Why is it like this? Simple, the green house effect states that there is a resulting rise in carbon dioxide. There is only 100% air, which means that by that theory, the corresponding oxygen level should be lowering as the carbon dioxide rises. Well, there ISN'T a corresponding depletion of oxygen (nor nitrogen or hydrogen for that matter). There is another cause that they haven't figured out yet.

Let me ask you Maurine, by allowing more roads into federal land and more stip mining, is it hurting you also? There ARE benefits for the employment force from this, even if people *think* it will impact the environment (believe me, aside from actually blowing the darned thing up, this planet will far out-survive us!).

There are no benifits for waisting resources..water sheds are ruined, species are lost, and we get a crappier world for it...Bush has been lessening laws that protect animals, the environment, and even humans in the end...you think all is well, come down here, and watch the refineries pump out the toxins every time it is cloudy..whatch the flames shoot several stories high..everyone knows the toxins cannot be detected as easily in the clouds...and of course, what does a slap on the wrist do? Come talk to the people who had to put their horses down, cause the air was so poor. I know of the theories that global warming is caused by natural causes..I don't give a crap, I am tired of living under an ozone watch!

First off, Bush is not "lessening" any laws. He doesn't even have the power to do so! Secondly, you are blaming him for things that have to be APPROVED by the legislature! And you know what, that is republicans and democrats! Republicans may have had a majority of the senate (they don't now), but not enough that if every repub voted for Bush's consignment, and every democrat voted against it, that he'd still win. He wouldn't! that means democrats are voting the same way too. It's not just a "Bush phenomenon".
Jennifer Gray (Maurine)

But Bush is the one trying to get the laws changed none the less...it is his agenda.

GOP agenda. It's not just him.

anyways, I didn't start this thread to be a political debate :] (sheesh, I had a religious debate on an elist, now a political one here. What are the two topics you're not supposed to talk about? *rubs chin* hmmm... :]

I was just noting the eery similarity in the image above. (And connotating that with the fact that I dislike Clinton very much. At least, dislike what he did/does...)

You are not the only one Maurine-

I live in a state that is run by a Bush. The children here aren't learning subjects in the schools, they are learning the Florida Comprehension Test-FCAT. That's all they are learning-

They are taught less of the arts and sciences, and the children are getting stupider!

To add to this-

While you might think of George as a high morals president-might I remind you that it was CLINTON who slept with Monica-not Al.

Al loves his wife, loves the country and loves the enviroment.

He won Florida, the supreme court gave the election to Bush. Don't ever forget this.

As for Bush's decisions affecting me-he's thinking about drilling for oil off the Gulf Coast. His brother is against it(Political Move) and the local congresman is for it-

We're voting him out, and in two years we can vote George out.

There, did it without screaming-

Chris
The FOX plant

LMAO @ discussions involving religion or politics in a public forum. Whatever. Carry on folks. :o)

[Munching popcorn]

BTW, Fungus, the Coriolis Effect is not the same as the Greenhouse Effect. They're two entirely different thangs. The Greenhouse Effect is what happens when clouds trap radiant heat from the sun, causing planetary surface temperature to be higher than what would normally be the case given the planet's proximity to the sun. The Coriolis Force is what Bart Simpson tried to prove when he called his bud in Australia and asked him which direction the water flowed down the sink drain. *giggle*

[Looks up] Hmmm... this should be in the science news conference. Ah vell. ;o)

Bush's so called higher morals are nothing more than window dressing.

He was here at one of our high schools. I got such a bad vibe off that man I thought my stomach would heave-ho. His aid literally tossed Assemblyman Ted Lempert out on the street because his entire crew was too stupid to familiarize themselves with local legislators.

Sorry Pat, you're right :] I thought there was a techical name for the greenhouse effect though...

Chris, you are asking me not to confuse Al with Bill, yet you easily lump Jeb in with Dubbya...

Jag, how about "The Bambi Network"... oh wait, they have that... (and it ain't run by Diznee!)

also, to all you Gore supporters:

To each his own. Keep in mind you are defending a man who you have no clue what he could have been putting into action in legislature now. Nobody could have predicted this is how Bush's presidency would be going at this point, so it's unfair to condemn Shrub while praising Algore, when Algore is simply 'hypothetical' at this point...

Mmmm.

Bush: "Let's put on a pretty face and tighten abortion laws up. While folks are getting all excited about that we'll slip in some legislature to stop the testing of school meat for toxins. That way schools will have more money to buy cow meat from my friends. Kids will die in convulsions. Their parents will then have no reason to go home so they'll work longer hours and I'll get more tax money! Yeah ME!"
