All the cabdrivers will get more jobs when they legislate handy phone using in New York.I think most businessmen are telephoning the whole day in the city. While driving.

It's already been passed here methinks. Or at least, they're discouraging it. Heck, it IS dangerous. I've dealt with my fair share of boneheaded drivers not paying attention to what they're doing because they're on the damn phone. (Backing into me, etc.)

How's that saying go? "Pull over if preoccupied" or some such.

Sheri, you drove through New York ? Alone in a car ? You must be very brave. I would´nt get through this traffic there at all.I like yellow cabs and yellow caps. If the yellow cab drivers would wear yellow caps one could see them better.

Yeah, it's terrible. We went food shopping a couple of weeks ago, and as we were pulling into the lane (we had right of way), some woman was just coasting alone, passing us, never looked at us once, just staring at the cellphone in her hands dialing, with a goofy smile on her face. Totally looking down at the steering wheel (and I couldn't even tell you that she had one hand on the wheel). She never looked up even once. Some people are just so irresponsible, and frankly, I think it's a good thing they are passing such a law, and hope it passes elsewhere too. I mean, they have attachements for cars that make it hands free, and they're not expensive.
