I just found this new comics site http://www.coolbeansworld.com advertised in Wizard magazine. This site had some remarkable art and computer animation. The put up animated exclusive comics from the few of top name in industry and some other interactive, games etc. You need to pay subscription fee to enter in this site, they charged 2.95$ for 4wks.
My question is do you guys think this would work and could this “revolutionize” the industry or not?

It's a very tight industry (both on and offline), so charging for their online comics is an EXTREMELY risky move at this point. You still have old faves like Marvel and a few newcomers like Innervision comics and even Cartoon Network giving away their online stuff for free.

Revolutionize? Not even close yet. It's just another form of advertising for the comic industry, and Lord help those who make it their only form...

Well im totally agree on your view that is not a good idea. I mean if they want to launch this site, there should be a story free to attract viewers, and rest of them they could charge. I don’t think so, that it would work. It is totally against the long-term business point of view.
However, I subscribed for 4wks, well it has worth of paying.

I think that if more folk started offering quality contented sites, they'd be WORTH paying for. Get away from this whole "free" mentality that things like Napster have started. Sure, give a teaser or two comic strip....sort of like an introductory issue for free, and then from there, have a reasonably subscription rate like that one has...something they they wouldn't blink at payin the price for because it's so reasonable, and you should have no problem. If enough people started doing that, it might work.

Sheri, I'm totally agree with you, and also nothing in this world is free. If you have some good quality stuff and you put efforts then you deserve some reward.
