Figured since JAG! is sorta synonymous with ID4 (as in Mr. ID4), figured I'd ask..

What's your favorite scene/scenes?

I still remember the buzz about the movie -- friends and co-workers telling me to go see it, and so a co-worker and I decided to go one day after work. We both enjoyed the movie, and apparently so did the other movie go-ers.

Theatrically (as in being in a theatre with the big screen and awesome audio) -- ID4 is one of those movies that needs to be seen in that setting.. it's just not the same at home.

Ok, enough rant.. JAG!'s Top 10 favorite scenes:

1) Russell's (Randy Quaid) crop dusting.. love the aerial photography and supporting music.

2) The Arrival -- when we see all the ships pierce the sky. Especially New York's.

3) Any scene with with Marty(Harvey Fierstein), 'nuff said!

4) The Destruction -- just LOVE the 10ms charges going off in the New York sequence. And actually the entire destruction sequence is awesome.

5) As Steve (Will Smith) and his bud Jimmy (Harry Connick, Jr.) are about to the board their planes for the retaliation. There's a point where
Jimmy sings 'I got it right here..." and the soundtrack backs him up. Sweet!

6) The entire attack sequence from the dogfighting near the ship to the chase in the canyon up to "Welcome to Earth!". Man, I love that part.

7) The Classic AirForce 1 scene where Julius(Judd Hursh) begins ranting about Roswell and later our friend Albert Nimzicki(James Rebhorn) spills out the twist-turner "That's not entirely accurate."
[chuckle].

8) Of course, the scene that still brings a tear to my eye is when The First Lady Marilyn Whitmore(Mary McDonnell) is in the infirmary and her husband(Bill Pullman) tries to comfort her and she responds.. "Liar..." -- sniff!

9) Our buddy, Russell aboard a military plane, presses a button and the computer responds.. "Missile launch".. :o)

10) The final scenes with Steven Hiller and David (Jeff Goldblum) are too funny. Great chemistry! And of course the scenes that follow when the ships are brought down.

It's not often JAG! is moved by a movie.. so much so that 5 years later, he still loves it.

-=JAG!

PS: I still think JAG! being a dead-extra in ID4 would of been a nice touch. :oP

The WHOLE movie was OUTSTANDING, but that kiss Mr. Smith gave his girlfriend was pretty HOT. Didn't it just win an award?

Well, I think the scene that caught everyone's attention from the Superbowl commerical was the white house "renovation". :]

but I thought the lockerroom scene where Jimmy confronts Steve about the ring was pretty funny :]

Oh, so many. So many.

I do love the scene where Hiller is dragging the alien through the desert.

And the one where the ships come out of the clouds. MAN!! gives me the shivers more than any scene in 6th Sense!

ANY scene with Julius (Judd Hirsch). LOL "We can't all be perfect." "If you don't move soon I'M going to start to decompose!" "You don't really think they spend 30,000 on a hammer..."

Randy Quaid was fantastic! I bawled my eyes out at the end...

I like the scenes where the ships are blasting the cities. The way it makes you feel that we can't possibly defend ourselves against such power.

I liked the scene when Will Smith stood in the desert and was confronted with the alien, shot it down and then said something like, " I knew that it would stink " and carried the awful smelling red body through the desert to his cheap.

Really funny was that.

Greetings

Hogan

I looove the scene where David and his dad are in the car driving to Washington D.C and David is getting really eager to get there fast and his dad says ' What's the rush, you think we'll get to Washington and it wont be there?' LoL! That line always cracks me up.

~Kim

Let's not forget...

Miguel says.. "Lucas' farm is on the other side of town", and Russell replies.. "Are you sure?" -- heheh

The infamous "Oops" scenes.

David: "They're shooting at us."
Steven: "You think?!?"

..and yes, the Jurassic Park reference by David near the end.. "Must go faster, must go faster".

-=JAG!

The first view of the immense ship hovering over the city.Awesome. Made one feel like such an insignificant blot in time and space.

I was outside this afternoon when this HUGE black cloud came up over the horizon with lightning bolts streaking inside it. An instant deja vu reminder of that scene in Independence Day.

The big ship hovering over the city actually made me think of the old TV mini-series, V.

Damn I miss that show!

The part where the woman gives birth to the alien is sooo creepy... That's the scene I remember most from the series.

~Kim

Yep. I was freaked out for weeks the first time I saw the tongue sequence :] Of course, it's a perverse thing where it bugs the heck out of ya, but you just can't wait to see it again...

Of course, who can forget...

"Mousey... mousey? heh heh Mousey!"

A reptilian Beavis years before his time...

The conversation between President Whitmore and the captured alien, with Dr. Okun's body acting as a translator. Because it got into the alien species's character, their motives. Plus it was damn creepy and excellently photographed. A real mood piece. Great stuff.

Oops, if I posted twice that was a mistake.

Sorry.

My favorite scene is the escape from the mothership. My second best is the failed attack on the destroyer. And my third best is the attack on the cities.

Definately "Hope you gotta Airbag!" and the entire rant in the desert dragging the Alien and his dreadlocks with the 'chute.

(reminds me SO much of my brother in law, Chris)

ahh... that one... yeah...

;)
I liked the empire state building and tunnel scenes. It's the first sci-fi that actually bothered to make it look like the laser was going *through* the floors and not like the charges were placed at the windows.

The tunnel, because using real cars instead of minitures was pure genius. Probably hell for the SFX guys, but pure genius.
