Hey Dean-

A friend of mine pointed this one out to me so now you can add it to your list of Bloopers-

When Jeff Goldblum's character is having that fit in the lab, and starts kicking trash cans around, look very carefully-

One of them says in big BLACK letters.."Art Department".

Oops!

Chris
The FOX plant

Who's to say Area 51 doesn't have an Art Department? How'd those nice paper drawings of the ships when David is talking about his plan to infect the mothership get done? :oPpP

On the subject of bloopers -- as Jasmine and her son crawl out of the tunnel, there's a hole in the wall behind them which shows two people and a white truck I believe (catering? :oP) -- Which is odd since the next scene gives the impression they're alone.

-=JAG!

The can blooper, as well as a TON of others, are listed on the IMDb goofs page for ID4 at http://us.imdb.com/Goofs?0116629 Check it out. Some of 'em are hysterical. ;o)

well, they're kind of nitpicky, to a fault.

The one about the president's clock showing 5:55, and then the chess game showing 3:40, is not so wrong. The Levinsons were at least 5 hours travel time away from the white house! I don't recall the specific direction, but I do believe at 5 hours, they could reasonably be in a 1-1.5 hour behind time zone.

also, the one about Hiller calling Jimmy 'soldier' claiming it to be an insult in the Marines... that's the whole point! DUH!

Well Fungus, you have it in your power to correct them. There's a whole bunch of points listed as "Incorrectly regarded as goofs." Make it count dude. :o)

After I read about the catering truck being visible through the hole in the wall, I immediately had to check it on the DVD, and I was amazed to see it there! How did you find that one??

I think it's not even mentioned on that IMDB goofs page. The only blooper I found is mentioned on the page: Miguel's arms when watching TV.

However I think things like the length of the cigars or something, that's really nitpicking. There are things like that in *any* movie.

And things like an "Art Dept" on a trash can just shows that it's still normal people making the movies. For me it makes the movie more likeable.

I'm stunned someone would waste the time picking that movie apart! The whole bottle thing? It was straight then turned, the cap was on then off?

I'm surprised they didn't pick on Hiller's panty lines!! "It's clear by the rear-view of his jumpsuit that at the beginning of the scene he's wearing briefs, at the end boxer briefs."

hehehe Reminds me of the ol "it hangs left" days, eh Pat? *wink wink*

Hey, look at how thoroughly we've gone through The Visitor? We haven't even gotten to the bloopers parts yet. ;-)

Auric: I've seen this movie so many times, that I'm surprised I didn't see the "truck/people" in the tunnel scene earlier. Also realized that Boomer is missing from that scene -- and if you recall during the destruction sequence, Jasmine is seen clutching on to Boomer for dear life.

But I agree with the IMDB Goofs page. WAY overboard on the nit-picking... I still enjoy the movie and am not really looking for errors. Plus, I love the little joke at the end of the credits which states (paraphrased) "No animals or aliens were hurt in the making of this film." The movie served its purpose. It was a popcorn movie and one done EXTREMELY well.

-=JAG!

Having an Eddie Izzard moment! Where he describes a good film as the kind you mow through the popcorn You bought and your neighbor's popcorn... LOL

So true, so true!

Check out the IMDb after June 5th. I made some 'corrections' to ID4 and Godzilla that hopefully should be included in their next update...

Kewl!

Some weeks ago when Gladiator won the Oscars, it was written in the newspapers that it is the movie with the most errors of all time. They also published an Internet link to a site similar to that IMDB goofs page. Of course I checked it out immediately, because I expected airplanes flying up in the sky or something, but it was the same. Just nit-picking pomposity. "Look, they made a mistake! hahaha"... stupid site!

I'm not too sure some of those aren't intentional. You know, something for everyone! "foam ear-plugs near the assembly hall" **m* my sincerest apologies, I should have noticed them and plucked them out. And the "shutting eyes when firing the weapon", Although the fella appeared he was dodging powder flash, I'm sure in that time, there were some who really didn't want to aim too small. Excellent.
