Hey friends!

When I first watched ID4 in 1996 times in a row I especially liked the intro scene on the moon with its great soundtrack music.

Later I bought the "Original Soundtrack Recording" with music by David Arnold. I listened to the music over and over again and watched the movie in my head.

When I then bought the import video from England, I immediately noticed the slight difference of the music in that scene to the music on the soundtrack CD.

I just thought it was a difference between the original movie version and the video release version, but now that I got the ID4 DVD and also have the Special Edition, it's still a slightly different score.

My question is: Has there ever been a version of the movie where the music of the original soundtrack recording is used in it's unchanged form?

Or am I getting this wrong because I watched the movie in my head with the "wrong" (not "original", "directly from the movie") soundtrack so that I only think that that music was used in the movie?

Or is there a difference between Original Soundtrack Recording and Original Soundtrack? I know there are weird things like "Original Motion Picture Score", "Music from the Motion Picture", "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack"... where's the difference?

"The Big Blue" has a completely different musical score in it's American version than in it's French version. The French version RULES!! One of the greatest soundtracks ever. Eric Serra is amazing!
